“SMELTING PEDULI” SOCIALIZED EDUCATION FOR THE JAVANESE EAGLE CONSERVATION AND THE OFFICIAL OF SAUNG “BALIK BUMI”

OBJECTIVES:
“Socialization of Conservation Education for the Javan Eagle”, as well as inaugurating the “Balik ka Bumi” Saung at the Cimungkad Javan Eagle Conservation Education Center.

CHALLENGE:
The Javan eagle is an endemic species that is only found on the island of Java. As one of the endemic animals, this species includes animals that face the risk of extinction due to reduced habitat and rampant poaching. In fact, this bird is listed as “endangered” in the Red Data Book.

SOLUTIONS:
Seeing these conditions, PT Smelting through “Smelting Cares” manifests its concern for the environment by conducting “Socialization of Conservation Education for the Javan Eagle”, as well as inaugurating the “Balik ka Bumi” Saung at the Cimungkad Java Eagle Conservation Education Center (27/05).

Saung “Balik ka Bumi” is one of the tourist destinations of the “Balik ka Bumi” Tourism Village which is an empowerment of Smelting Peduli, for the community around Cikahuripan Village, Kadudampit District, Sukabumi Regency.

This activity was attended by Saptohadi Prayetno as Senior Manager of GA PT Smelting, Ade Suryaman as Regional Secretary of Sukabumi Regency, Asep Nurdin as CEO of Filantra, Jansen Manansang as Director of Taman Safari Indonesia, Wasja as Acting Head of TNGGP Center, Indra Exploitasia as directorate of Biodiversity Conservation , Heads of Cikahuripan and Muaradua Villages and Kadudampit Sub-district Head, local RT RW and Elementary Schools around the location.

The activity began with welcoming invited guests from elementary school children, followed by a series of game activities that tested their dexterity and cooperation, after which they were given education about Javan Eagle Conservation.

The activity continued in the afternoon until the afternoon with a series of welcoming events from each party present, singing the national anthem, introducing the Javanese eagle ambassador, giving placards, distributing prizes, group photos and finally the inauguration of Saung “Balik ka Bumi” and giving souvenirs.

“I feel proud and grateful to PT Smelting and Taman Safari Indonesia who have supported the preservation of the Javan eagle, one of the endemic species of native Indonesian animals in the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park to continue to be preserved and if necessary continue to increase its habitat,” said Mr Wasja as Plt.
