FILANTRA PLANTS TREES IN SUKABUMI TO PREVENT EROSION AND LANDSLIDES

PARTNERS:
Kitabisa.com

INDUSTRY:
Crowdfunding

OBJECTIVES:
As one of the efforts to protect the environment, Filantra as an empowerment consultant who is also concerned about the environment has carried out tree planting activities in the Sukabumi area. This tree planting was carried out in the village of Nyalindung RT/RW 01/03 Titisan Village, Sukalarang District, Sukabumi Regency (19/04/2023)

CHALLENGE:

Trees are one of the important natural resources in reducing greenhouse gas emissions which are the main cause of the climate crisis. Trees are able to absorb carbon dioxide from the air and convert it into oxygen through the process of photosynthesis.

Protecting the environment is a very important action for the balance of the ecosystem and the survival of humans and other living things. Therefore, everyone must play an active role in maintaining and improving the environment around them.

SOLUTIONS:

This program was carried out on 23-24 February 2023 in Tenjolaya Village, Kasomalang District, Subang Regency as a form of support for the Offsetting Carbon Footprint movement by inviting the community to plant trees.

The big impact of planting 1 tree can absorb 25 to 40 kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) or the equivalent of reducing pollution for a 100 km car trip.

It is hoped that through this program it will become a momentum to continue to play an active role in protecting the earth, especially protecting nature and the environment for a better life for future generations.

Tree planting is carried out in the former sand quarry which often experiences erosion and landslides. It is hoped that this tree planting will help prevent erosion and landslides which can harm the surrounding environment.

This is part of the Filantra program to maintain and improve the collaboration environment through the Kitabisa.com platform. In addition, this activity is also in line with government programs in preserving the environment.

“We are very happy to be able to participate in protecting the environment in the Sukabumi area. By planting trees in the former sand quarry, we hope to help prevent environmental damage that could endanger the lives of the local community,” said Mrs. Ully Empowering Partner Filantra Sukabumi.

The tree planting activity was attended by local residents and also several related parties. In this activity, 130 tree seedlings were planted in the prepared area. It is hoped that with this tree planting activity, the environment in the Sukabumi area can be greener and healthier.
