GOAL:
Introducing a foreign language, will increase their vocabulary, understand the intraintricacies of other languages and pronunciation, increase their self-confidence, as well as increase their ability in language in order to partake in more language classes.

CHALLENGE:
On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 25 students of the South Jakarta Champion Elementary School studied English in the form of conversations with Miss Pravita, a team from Cakap.org.

SOLUTION:

Filantra worked together with Cakap.org in executing a Free English Course Degree course for Jakarta Champion Elementary School within three cities of Semarang, Cimahi, and Jakarta Selatan.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 25 students of the South Jakarta Champion Elementary School studied English in the form of conversations with Miss Pravita, a team from Cakap.org.

This activity has been held for five meetings, with various different themes in each meeting.

Every theme is always pleasant, as it is fun to learn due to the fact that the teacher gives every single student a chance, raising their confidence in trying. A wrong answer is never a problem, as it is always appreciated either way.

Today’s theme is “My Sweet Home”, the activity begins with an introduction to the area of ​​the house, mentioning the names of the parts of the house with English pronunciation. Miss Pravita gave an example and all students followed suit.

The Cakap class with the South Jakarta Champion Elementary School was continuously active and cheerful, each student answered in English without hesitation.

“At first I was confused as to what the teacher was saying, because Miss always spoke English ; but after a while I understood what she meant. I like it. It’s fun and exciting!” said Salma when asked about how she felt about joining Cakap’s English class.

Introducing a foreign language provides other benefits for children. By learning a foreign language, they will increase their vocabulary, understand the intraintricacies of other languages and pronunciation, increase their self-confidence, as well as increase their ability in language in order to partake in more language classes.
