ADIRA HOLDS SUSTAINABLE FOREST PROGRAM FOR COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY DISASTERS

PARTNER:
PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Tbk (Adira Finance)

INDUSTRY:
Motor Vehicle Financing

OBJECTIVE:
In the future, it is expected that with this program, the presence of green areas will increase, helping to reduce carbon emissions and other natural disasters.

CHALLENGE:
The extensive barren areas pose a complex problem for the Palembang region. Not only that, but this also leads to numerous natural disasters such as floods and droughts, as well as the threat of global warming.

SOLUTION:

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Adira Finance held a Tree Planting Program located in the Suwinantan Landfill Area, Palembang, South Sumatra.

The tree planting carried out today is part of the My Beloved Earth Program that has been ongoing since August 2023.

This tree planting activity took place at 10 Adira Finance business unit locations: Medan, Palembang, Denpasar, Sidoarjo, Samarinda, Manado, Solo, Depok, East Jakarta, and Bandung, with a total of 2,620 trees planted, consisting of fruit trees and strong-rooted trees distributed nationwide.

Palembang is the second city where tree planting takes place. The tree planting location in Palembang is at the Suwinantan Landfill in South Sumatra, which will be transformed into a Green Open Space, with Adira Finance being the first to plant trees in this location.

The event was attended by Mr. Handi, Head of Regional SSD Adira Finance, Mr. Binordi Harkel Purba, Regional Collection Head Adira Finance, Dr. Winry Vient, Head of the Palembang Environmental Agency Capacity Improvement Team, Zaidan Jauhari from UPTD TPA Palembang, and Hamdan Cholil, S.Pi as the representative of the Head of Global Talent Islamic School and Studio, along with students and teachers.

As a symbolic planting, 40 tree seedlings were planted by the respective parties in prepared holes.

Mr. Handi, Head of Regional SSD Adira Finance, expressed, “In line with our brand promise, being ‘Everlasting Faithful Friends,’ through this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, we want to participate in social and environmental activities. With the My Beloved Earth Program, tree planting is not just ceremonial; it actively contributes to reducing carbon emissions and greenhouse effects. We hope this activity will have a real positive impact on the surrounding environment and help address environmental issues.”

This program also serves as an effort to address climate change and global warming by absorbing carbon produced by human activities. One of the efforts to reduce carbon is through the maintenance of plants or trees, as they can convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen (O2) through the process of photosynthesis.

“I, from the Palembang Environmental Agency, welcome today’s activity where Adira Finance provides education about the environment and tree planting. Hopefully, this activity will be beneficial and contribute to climate change. As we know, there are now problems arising from the impact of climate change, pollution, and greenhouse gases. Hopefully, meaningful activities like this can contribute to sustainability. Lestari greetings!” stated Dr. Winry Vient, Head of the Palembang Environmental Agency Capacity Improvement Team.

The program was warmly welcomed by the community. Mr. Muharudin, S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of SMP Global Talent Islamic School and Studio, expressed, “Thank you to Adira Finance for organizing the My Beloved Earth event at Global Talent School. This is a very useful and important series of activities to save our earth from global warming. It is also a valuable learning education for our students at Global Talent School on how to plant acacia trees. Once again, we express our gratitude.”
