OBJECTIVE:
In the context of caring for disaster victims in Indonesia, PT Indosat Tbk is assisting in providing emergency aid to residents affected by the earthquake in Sumedang.
CHALLENGES:
A magnitude (M) 4.8 earthquake that struck Sumedang on December 31, 2023, caused damage to several buildings, including healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and places of worship.
According to BMKG records, aftershocks continue to occur with varying earthquake magnitudes.
Many residents are displaced and lack emergency food supplies.
SOLUTION:
In response to the incident, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, together with Filantra, distributed aid to survivors through the “Indosat Cares for the Sumedang Earthquake” program.
A total of 450 ready-to-eat food boxes, 65 pieces of mats, 50 cases of bottled mineral water, and 100 Indosat SIM cards were distributed on Wednesday (01/03/2023).
The distribution of aid was provided in the affected areas located at the Babakan Hurip RW 08 Evacuation Post.
“Thank you to Indosat for the assistance provided, which is very beneficial for our residents who were affected by the earthquake and are still traumatized to return to their respective homes. May Indosat continue to succeed,” said Asep, Chairman of RW 08.
Hopefully, the situation continues to improve, and there are no more aftershocks, allowing the community to resume their activities.
