SOCIAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT (SROI) CALCULATION REPORT FOR ASSISTANCE TO THE PASAWAHAN BEEKEEPING EDUCATIONAL TOURISM VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

OBJECTIVE:

To serve as a monitoring and evaluation tool for the implementation of corporate social responsibility activities carried out in Garut Regency to ensure program accountability to stakeholders.

CHALLENGES:

This Social Return on Investment (SROI) Calculation Report for the Edu-Tourism Development Assistance Program was created to support efforts to improve company performance and positive social impact, and also serves as a concrete step in measuring the social value generated from every effort and investment made by PT PLN (Persero) UID West Java. SROI serves as an important foundation for us to understand the extent of the program’s contribution in improving community welfare, and we hope to better understand the real value generated, not only for those directly involved but also for the community as a whole.

SOLUTION:

Assistance for the Pasawahan Bee Farming Educational Tourism Village development program implemented by PT PLN (Persero) UID West Java from May 2022 to October 2023 has had a positive impact on stakeholders. The SROI ratio for the one-year program is 1:5.80, indicating that for every Rp. 1.00 invested by the company generates a social return or social benefit of Rp. 5.80. This benefit value will increase by improving program accuracy, stakeholder engagement, and expanding the scope of activities.

IMPACT:

Results from interviews with stakeholders indicate that the assistance provided has impacted on increased income for the eduwisata group, increased income for SMEs, and enhanced branding for PLN in the vicinity of the beneficiary locations. The economic benefits generated during the program period up to the calculation period amount to Rp. 3,807,104,762, equivalent to a social return on investment (ROI) for the period May 2022 – October 2023 is 5.80, indicating that for every Rp. 1.00 invested by the company, it generates a social return or social benefit of Rp. 5.80, with the program’s break-even point reached by the third month.
